One the most prevalent health problems children face today, isn’t cancer or an injury from sports; it’s sexual abuse. About 70% of all reported* cases of sexual assault involve victims under the age of 18.[1]
*According to the US Department of Justice, approximately 70% of all sexual assault cases are NOT reported at all. Research also states that approximately 60% of all child victims never tell anyone about their abuse either.[2]
Sexual assault, is never the victim’s fault. It’s also not something that only happens to girls/women. While 1 in 5 girls will be the victim of child sexual abuse, 1 in 20 boys will be as well.[3]
We here at Fundie Wiki support these victims, many of whom have never been able to tell their truths. Below is a compiled list of support resources, advocacy groups, and organizations, as well as 24 hour hotlines. If you, or anyone you know, has been a victim of sexual assault and would like support, or have found any of the pages regarding the current scandal on Fundie Wiki triggering, please reach out to one of these organisations. It’s never too late.
