Sarah Rae (Maxwell) Bollinger is the daughter of Steve and Teri Maxwell. She is the younger sister of Nathan and Christopher Maxwell and the older sister of Joseph, John, Anna, and Jesse Maxwell, and Mary Hock. She is married to Kory Bollinger.
Early Life
Sarah Rae Maxwell was born on January 19, 1982, in Clearwater, FL, to Steve and Teri Maxwell. She was the couple's third child, and they went on to have five more children after her.
When Sarah was a young child, she and her older brothers proved to be a challenge for her parents, especially for her mother. Around 1984, Sarah's father had a vasectomy to prevent future children. In 1985, the family moved to Washington state, and the family was said to be doing better. After living there for awhile, her parents began to feel convicted that they had sinned by trying to prevent children, and her father had his vasectomy reversed. For this reason, Sarah's younger siblings are often referred to as "reversal babies".[1]
Sarah and her family moved to Leavenworth, KS, in 1990 to be closer to extended family.[2]
Sarah and her siblings were homeschooled growing up. They called their homeschooling Flowing Streams Christian School. She graduated in 2000.[3][2]

Each book covers about three months in the lives of the fictional Moody family[4], who many speculate is based off of Sarah's family.
In 2017, Sarah announced that she is publishing Sunflower's Christmas Miracle, a standalone Christmas book that features many of the characters from the Moody series.[5]
