The Putman family are made up of the parents, William Putman II and Barbara (Barb) Putman, their four adult children (plus spouses) and 20 grandchildren. They are also now building a 35000 square foot medical complex for Blake to work from. [38]
Blair and Jamie live elsewhere so that Jamie can finish his medical residency.
They first became known through starring in the TLC show ‘Meet the Putmans’. They have since started a YouTube show, ‘Growing up Putman’
All four of the Putman’s children-in-law have taken the Putman surname, including their daughter’s husband Jamie, who’s original surname was Popovich. [28]
Controversies
Gun Charges
In 2018 Brandon faced charges of illegally possessing a machine gun, receipt or possession of a firearm unregistered with the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record, and transfer of a firearm. He pleaded not guilty to these charges. The gun charge carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison and/or a $250,000 fine. [39]
William has also faced charges of AR-15 rifle that was converted to operate as a machine gun.[40]
Both were acquitted. [41]
Shooting
The family have posted several photos on their social media accounts of hunting, namely ‘harvesting’ bears, triggering criticism from followers. [42][43]
