Ivy Jane Seewald is the third of Ben and Jessa Seewald's four children.



Early Life

Pregnancy

On January 9, 2019, Ben and Jessa Seewald announced that they were expecting their third child, who was due late spring.[1] The couple elected not to find out the sex of the baby, but predicted it would be a boy.[2]

In the comments on a Facebook post from the baby's grandmother, Guinn Seewald, Guinn reveals that the due date was in June.[3]

On February 21, 2019, Jessa posted a picture of her baby bump with a caption that stated she was 25 weeks pregnant. This made her baby due around June 6.[4]

On March 25, 2019, Jessa revealed in the Counting On episode "A Bachelor No More" that her due date was June 6, 2019.[5]

Birth

Ivy Jane Seewald was born on Sunday, May 26, 2019, at 5:57p in her parents' home. She weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces and was 20.5 inches long, a notable difference from the size of her older brothers when they were born. Although her due date had previously been stated as June 6, at the time of her birth it was stated as June 5.[6]

On June 3, 2019, Ben and Jessa posted a video to their website where they explained her name, saying they just liked the two names and how they flowed together. Ben also said that her middle name, Jane, was after Lady Jane Grey, who they consider an inspirational character.[7]

Television Appearances

Before she was even born, Ivy was one of the subjects of a number of episodes of the TLC show Counting On. These episodes included her parents announcing their pregnancy, sharing updates, and having a gender guessing party. On June 19, 2019, the show posted a webisode about her birth.[8]

On December 10, 2019, Ivy made her first official appearance on the show with the episode "A Suprise Delivery", which focused on her birth.[9] Since then, she has been regularly featured in the show.
