Henry Wilberforce Seewald is the second of Ben and Jessa Seewald's four children.

Early Life

The Seewalds announcing Jessa's pregnancy

On August 23, 2016, Ben and Jessa Seewald announced they were pregnant with their second child, who was due in February.[1] His mother, who had frequently posted baby bump pictures during her first pregnancy, posted them less often for this pregnancy. When she did they were generally side-by-side comparisons between the two pregnancies.[2]

Henry as a newborn

At 4:26 a.m. on February 6, 2017, Jessa gave birth to her second son. He weighed 8 pounds and 11 ounces and was 21 3/4 inches long. "Mom and baby are doing well. We are so thankful to God for this precious gift of life and are excited to be a family of four! Thanks to everyone for your prayers and well wishes!" the couple said in a statement.[3]

On February 13, 2017, the couple announced that their son was named Henry Wilberforce Seewald. They chose the name Henry mostly because Jessa liked it and partially after seventeenth-century preacher Matthew Henry. The name Wilberforce was chosen in honor of William Wilberforce, eighteenth/nineteenth-century politician and philanthropist.[4]

Television Appearances

Before he was even born, Henry was the subject of a number of episodes from seasons 3-5 of the TLC show Counting On. These episodes feature his parents announcing their pregnancy, going to ultrasound appointments, wondering if they're having twins, and learning the sex of the baby.[5][6][7]

The season 5 episode "A New Baby", which first aired on June 26, 2017, focused on Henry's birth.[8] Since then, Henry has been regularly featured on the show.
